Thomas Muller may have 10 World Cup goals to his name, but he has never found the net at the European Championships.

During Germany's Euro 2016 quarter-final clash with Italy, the Bayern Munich forward had a golden chance to break his tournament duck and put his side ahead. However, he was denied by a superb clearance from Alessandro Florenzi. 

After Germany took the lead through Mesut Ozil, Mario Gomez had the opportunity to become the first player ever to score three or more goals in consecutive Euro tournaments. However, his cheeky back heel was denied by Gigi Buffon:
