Liverpool Transfer News: Top Rumours, Key Signings Linked to Jurgen Klopp's Reds
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lucas Moura has played down rumours that he could be heading to Liverpool this summer.
The Brazilian arrived at PSG in 2012 as one of the most highly rated attackers in world football, but he’s yet to hold down a regular spot in the team.
That brought about the possibility of a Parc des Princes exit, yet Moura himself told Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte that he’s focused on working his way into PSG’s starting lineup, rather than packing his bags for Anfield (via Liam Corless of the Daily Mirror):

"I'm not aware of anything, I'm just knowing what's coming out on the Internet by the press. He [Jurgen Klopp] had no contact with me, it's just speculation.
I want to do a good pre-season and wait for Tite’s next Brazil squad. I’m sure he’ll be watching us all playing in Europe.
Of course I am hoping to return to the national team and establish myself there, but my first focus is to establish myself at PSG as a starter and then I’m sure the opportunity will appear.
"

The news will come as a big blow to Liverpool fans, as Moura is the kind of explosive talent they need in their ranks.
Even though he spent the vast majority of the 2015/16 campaign warming the PSG substitutes' bench, he proved just how lethal he can be when given the chance.
According to WhoScored.com, the 23-year-old scored 13 goals and created five more last term in all competitions.
New manager Unai Emery may well change Moura’s fortunes at PSG, but Hatem Ben Arfa’s arrival gives the Brazilian even more competition for a starting berth.

That means a team like Liverpool could feasibly offer Moura the chance to enjoy more first-team football, allowing him the opportunity to shine as he seeks to get back on Brazil’s roster.
And with international colleagues Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino already at Anfield, he could be easily persuaded.
Elsewhere, the Reds have been dealt another transfer blow, as Real Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan has ruled out a switch to Merseyside.
Jurgen Klopp has already captured the services of former Mainz stopper Loris Karius this summer, and Adan told Spanish newspaper AS that he’s not prepared to be an understudy (via Corless): "Liverpool have renovated recently. I feel happy and important in the Betis, so it's something I'm not thinking."

The Reds are in desperate need of a shake-up ahead of the 2016/17 season, and they need to get business started sooner rather than later.
While players like Sadio Mane will undoubtedly boost the Reds’ chances of success, they need to bring new defenders in to freshen up their weak back line.
Joel Matip will bring a certain degree of stability, but there’s plenty more to be done if the glory days are to return.
