Track and Field 2016 Olympic Trials: Friday Live Results and Analysis
Six more American athletes punched their tickets to the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics as members of Team USA on Friday night during track & field qualifying.
Ryan Crouser, Joe Kovacs and Darrell Hill were the top-three finishers in the final of the men's shot put and will head to Brazil to represent the United States later this summer.
Kovacs entered the competition as the heavy favorite, and his qualification removes the sting of missing the Games four years ago when he came in fourth in this same competition.
In the men's 10,000-meter race, Galen Rupp dominated the field but had to pass Shadrack Kipchirchir on the final lap to win the competition.
Rupp and Kipchirchir will head to Rio and be joined on the 10,000-meter team by Leonard Korir who placed third.
