Why Randy Orton Will Win The WWE Championship Back at Hell In a Cell

Aaron JumperOct 1, 2009

So this is my first article here at Bleacher Report. I've been a big fan for a long time. But I'm sure you care about as much as you care about seeing Jimmy Wang Yang on SmackDown! every week. SPOILERS CONTAINED BELOW

Randy Orton will win the WWE Championship from John Cena this Sunday at Hell in a Cell. Most people buy into the the theory that the winner of the match on the pay per view, gets the worst of it on the show before. This is usually the case. I'll remind you of the most recent cases...BREAKING POINT: Cena def. Orton for the WWE Title and Legacy def. DX. However, on the RAW before that DX got the better of Legacy and Randy Orton gave John Cena one hell of an RKO. And for the 50 of you who tuned in to Monday saw a terribly booked main event that could have set up Orton getting the better of Cena nicely. However, logically of course, Orton and Cena climb to the top of the cell and Cena gets the best of Orton. If RAW wasn't proof enough, this Friday Orton will be one being pinned in the huge 8 man tag and every face hits him with their finisher.

Another reason why a Randy Orton will regain his championship is the format of the next pay per view "Bragging Rights." Bragging Rights is expected to be RAW vs Smackdown! vs ECW Triple Threat Matches and the return of the Champion of Champions match. Most people believe The Undertaker will capture the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk and Christian will probably not have a serious contender by then. Which would make The Undertaker, Christian, and the WWE Champion in the main event. I doubt the WWE will have three faces and the fans choose which one will defend their championship. Odds are, there will be one heel in the mix. Randy Orton would be the WWE Champion and the fans would more than likely vote him to defend his title. Randy Orton would probably also win this match and elevate him to a whole new level. Looking towards the future is TLC ppv in December, in Shawn Michael's hometown of San Antonio. It's rumored Shawn will win his final WWE Championship that night. In that case, it would be much more likely for a heel Randy Orton to be in the match, than a face John Cena.

There is the argument that John Cena just won the WWE Championship at Breaking Point. However, if you look at how WWE have done PPV's this year and title changes, that doesn't matter anymore. Theres been a title change at every PPV (except Judgment Day and the Bash) and 2 pay per views where all 3 brands had title changes (Extreme Rules; where the World Title had 3 different title holders in a 5 minute span). If Cena were to retain, what heels on RAW are big enough to challenge Cena...NONE.

There you have it, Randy Orton will win the WWE Championship on Sunday
