MiLB Team to Wear Special Jerseys Covered with Emojis

In the technology age we live in, selfies and emojis are now how some of us prefer to communicate.

Well, a couple of years ago, a baseball team found a way to incorporate selfies into a special uniform. Now, emojis are getting their moment in the spotlight.

On Thursday night, the West Michigan Whitecaps (the Single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) are holding "Social Media Night" at Fifth Third Ballpark. There will be a selfie-stick giveaway, a photo booth, a hashtag fans can use to request songs and more.

But perhaps the most noteworthy part of the night is the fact Whitecaps players and coaches will be wearing jerseys covered in emojis.

Because why not?
