Week 4 NFL Picks
It’s already Week 4 in the NFL and its’ time for more picks. I’ve had a pretty good season to date, last week I went 11-5 with my picks (the worst week this season). That brings my season total to 37-11, not bad at all I must say.
Last week I nailed both the upset and lock picks. The upset was from the Cincinnati Bengals, with the way the Pittsburgh Steelers have been playing this season I didn’t really think it was such a reach for them to win, especially at home. They proved me right. I’m still undefeated on the UPSETS.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Last weeks lock was Baltimore beating the Browns, which was never in doubt.
The highlight of my week thou was watching Brett Favre lead the Vikings to a last second win. If you remember last week I said that Week 3 would be when Favre shows why the Vikings needed a QB like him. And that he did. Don’t remember me saying that here’s the snippet from last weeks picks
"MINNESOTA 30, San Francisco 24 – A battle of unbeatens, one of which the 49ers were totally unexpected. A battle of the two biggest rushers in the NFL this season, Frank Gore (who I’m not sold on) and Adrian Peterson (minor back issues). Should be a very entertaining game to watch but this is the week where Brett Favre shines and shows why the Vikings needed a real QB to support Peterson.
"
Anyways let’s get started with the Week 4 picks.
As always home teams are in caps. Note: I don’t use the spread in my picks but if betting is your thing you can hit up Bodog Sportsbook and get all the latest lines on the NFL.
NEW ENGLAND 27, Baltimore 24 – This has the potential to be one of the best games of the week but only if the real Patriots show up. The Pats have looked like a pretender so far through three weeks; can Tom Brady make them look like contenders again against one of the best defenses in the league? With the home crowd behind them I think he will.
WASHINGTON 17, Tampa Bay 12 – This is a battle of two of the worst teams in the NFL. The Buccaneers will have a new QB this week but it won’t make any difference. The Redskins they could use a whole overhaul on the offensive side. So what’s that mean? A low scoring game and the home team pulling out the win.
Tennessee 20, JACKSONVILLE 13 – The Titans have been absolutely horrendous this season but if just a couple things broke differently they’d be having a decent season. On the road against a rival, with his job on the line will be enough to get Kerry Collins to get the offense moving.
HOUSTON 28, Oakland 20 – The Raiders are an improving young team but don’t have nearly enough punch to keep up with the Texans. If the Texans finally get the running game going then this game can turn into a major blowout.
CHICAGO 23, Detroit 17 – The Lions are riding high after beating the Redskins last week. They’ll come out fired up, especially against their division rivals. I think this will be a different Lions team then the one we’ve been used to but the difference in talent is what leads the Bears to a win.
UPSET – CLEVELAND 23, Cincinnati 20 – I know last week the Bengals were my upset winners and this week I’m going against them with the upset. The games between these two are always intense. The difference for the Browns this week is that they’ll have a QB that can get the job done. Expect the offense to have more confidence in their leader and put up some early points. After that they’ll revert back to the early season Browns and barely hold on to the lead.
INDIANAPOLIS 33, Seattle 17 – Right now the Colts are looking like one of the best teams in the NFL as long as they can stop Julius Jones then Peyton and the Colts will have no problem against the Seahawks.
New York Giants 27, KANSAS CITY 10 – The Giants defense was absolutely amazing last week against the Bucs, which wasn’t tough to be since the Bucs offense sucks. You know what thou? The Chiefs offense isn’t much better. As long as the Giants aren’t looking forward this should be an easy win.
NEW ORLEANS 24, New York Jets 18 – This is going to be the game with the most hype Sunday. Some may even call it a potential Super Bowl preview. The Jets defense will definitely slow the high scoring Saints, but will it be enough for young Sanchez to keep up? I don’t think so, expect the Saints to pull off the big home win.
Buffalo 26, MIAMI 12 – I was close to making this my lock pick as the Dolphins will be going with Chad Henne after Chad Pennington’s season ending injury. The Wildcat will probably be used more then it already is which is already too much. As long as the Bills defense is prepared for it they should get a big division road win.
Dallas 24, DENVER 16 – This is another game I’m not quite sure on what will happen. The Broncos are undefeated but really haven’t played anyone of note. The Cowboys are 2-1 but loss to the one legit team they played, the New York Giants. If Marion Barber plays then the Cowboys shouldn’t have a problem with Denver. If he doesn’t then I don’t know the Broncos could be 4-0.
LOCK – SAN FRANCISCO 24, St. Louis 10 – The Niners are a complete surprise to me this season. I expected them to be pretty bad this year, not going to lie about that. They’ve had the chance the last couple years to do well if they could develop a QB it looks like they finally have. If it wasn’t for a Brett Favre prayer they’d be 3-0 right now, expect them to easily beat the lowly Rams.
PITTSBURGH 21, San Diego 20 – The Steelers first win of the season isn’t going to come easy. The Chargers are a really good team but I just don’t see how the Steelers will lose a big game like this at home. A loss here could really hurt their playoff hopes.
MINNESOTA 30, Green Bay 23 – This is Favre’s first contest against his former team. If Favre puts his pride aside and not try to win this with his arm the Vikings should be fine. I expect the coaching staff to go heavy with Adrian Peterson early as the Packers are going to expect Favre to come out firing. As long as they do this they should put the Pack on their heels and have a fairly easy win. If they don’t it could be Favre’s first 3 interception game as a Viking which the Packer fans would love.
There you that’s what I think about week 4 in the NFL.
LAST WEEK – 11-5
SEASON RECORD – 37-11
LOCK – 2-1
UPSET – 3-0
