With Jayson Tatum sidelined, Celtics' fourth-quarter comeback falls short in Game 7 loss to 76ers

Nobody's going to bet against top-seed Serena Williams on Tuesday, even if she's gone from four straight Grand Slams won to three straight Grand Slams without a title.

Yes, she's reached the past two finals. Yes, she's reached the final in every tournament she's played in this year except for the Miami Open, where she bowed out in the fourth round, and she won the Italian Open. But it's hard not to question if perhaps this is the season where Williams finally shows some vulnerability.

Williams is probably tired of hearing those whispers, of course. She certainly was "subdued" and "terse" when speaking to the media on Sunday, per Christopher Clarey of the New York Times:

"

Williams’s mood on Sunday could be taken two different ways: One, she is still reeling, or two (and much more likely), she is simmering and much more interested in crushing serves and returns and restoring the tennis universe to its natural order than in the question-and-answer game.

“I’m definitely ready to start playing at this point,” she said. “I’m kind of over practicing every day for two hours, then going to the gym.”

"

That's not a Williams that anybody wants to face, let alone poor Amra Sadikovic.

Frankly, you wouldn't expect many upsets on Tuesday. There's 2-seed Andy Murray, looking to win his second title at Wimbledon and end Novak Djokovic's reign of terror over the men's game. One wouldn't tip fellow Brit Liam Broady to pull off the first-round upset.

Or 4-seed Stan Wawrinka, the last man not named Djokovic to win a Grand Slam (2015 French Open). Taylor Fritz of the United States shouldn't give him too many problems.

On the women's side, 10-seed Petra Kvitova is a two-time winner at Wimbledon and has gotten to at least the third round in every Wimbledon since 2009. Meanwhile, 3-seed Agnieszka Radwanska has reached three semifinals and one final in the past four Wimbledons.

Yes, upsets happen. Just ask 23-seed Ana Ivanovic, who fell to Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday, or 25-seed Irina-Camelia Begu, who lost in straight sets to Carina Witthoeft. On the men's side, 17-seed Gael Monfils and 20-seed Kevin Anderson both fell.

So, who might be an upset victim on Tuesday?

Well, one of the day's most intriguing matchups is former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki facing 13-seed Svetlana Kuznetsova. The pair have played 11 times, with Wozniacki holding the slim 6-5 advantage in the series. The two split two matches in 2015, and Wozniacki has won the only two matchups between the pair on grass.

Wozniacki has reached just one semifinal and two quarterfinals this season, so she hardly hits Wimbledon in strong form. But she's certainly capable of beating Kuznetsova, and she's failed to advance past the first round at the All-England Club just once in her career.

It won't be easy, but look for Wozniacki to turn some heads and pull off the first-round upset.

And 6-seed Roberta Vinci is a huge upset candidate. She's lost in the first round at Wimbledon the past two seasons and three times total in her career. The United States' Alison Riske has a legitimate shot at pulling off this upset, given Vinci's major issues at Wimbledon in the past.
