Skuta was "held on a $500 bond and got out of jail early June 19," according to Martineau, who later shared a statement from Skuta's attorney regarding his client's arrest:
Skuta, 30, registered 40 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 13 games (eight starts) for the Jaguars in 2015.
He signed a five-year, $20.5 million contract with the team prior to the 2015 season, according to Spotrac.com. He spent four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals to start his career and two with the San Francisco 49ers before joining Jacksonville.
Skuta is expected to compete for a starting job at linebacker this season. As Mike DiRocco of ESPN.com noted, "Skuta and [Ryan] Davis are playing the newly created 'Lotto,' meaning they line up at strong-side linebacker but also rush."
