Lionel Messi Airmails Penalty Kick over Post, Argentina Loses Shootout

Even the great ones falter sometimes.

During Sunday’s Copa America final between Argentina and Chile, Lionel Messi misfired on a crucial penalty kick that would’ve given La Albiceleste an early 1-0 lead in the shootout.

Goalie Claudio Bravo dove right as Messi sailed his kick left, making the miss all the more painful.

Chile won 4-2 on penalties.
