Liverpool Transfer News: Paul Pogba Talks Revealed, Top Reds Rumours

Rob BlanchetteJun 21, 2016

Paul Pogba's agent has "admitted" he has discussed the future of the Juventus midfielder with Liverpool.

Tom Olver of Metro quoted the superstar's representative, Mino Raiola, speaking about his dealings with the Anfield giants, as he plans the France international's future:

"

It is not a secret. Every year I meet with Madrid, but also with United, Barcelona, City, Liverpool, Chelsea.

It’s my job. In the last two years my relationship with Real Madrid is again clear and professional.

Now there is serious dialogue, it’s positive. They know my character and how I am.

The Old Lady of Italian football currently value the 23-year-old at an astonishing €160 million (£123 million), according to Metro.

Pogba has scored 38 goals in 178 appearances for the Turin outfit, according to Olver, while the club have dominated Serie A since the Frenchman joined in August 2012.

Here is a video showing the midfielder's genius:

Pogba continues to generate interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid, per Olver. The starlet left United under a cloud four years ago, and it is debatable whether the Red Devils would pay such an inflated fee for a former player.

However, the Galacticos have made a habit of sweeping up the world's best talents, and they will not be deterred by a major price tag.

Pogba's valuation could make him a target that manager Jurgen Klopp cannot justify, as he looks to rebuild his squad in his second year on Merseyside.

In other news, Liverpool have turned their attentions to Newcastle United and England winger Andros Townsend, according to John Cross of the Mirror.

The player had a superb end to the season despite the Magpies' relegation to the Championship, and the attacker will surely wish to remain in the Premier League as he fights for his international place.

Sports reporter Ian Abrahams passed comment on the latest rumours surrounding Townsend:

Cross reported the former Tottenham Hotspur man has a £10.5 million buyout clause, and Klopp is "ready to make a move" for the 24-year-old pace merchant. The Reds will face competition from Manchester City as Townsend's stock inflates.

The attacker was the main bright spark at Newcastle last term, but it's questionable whether he has the rounded talent needed to be a success at Anfield.

Townsend provides pace and width, including an eye for goal, but if Liverpool have top-four ambitions, they will need to purchase better players than the Newcastle speed king.
