England will be looking to follow up on a thrilling 2-1 win over Wales in their last outing when they wrap up their group stage schedule against Slovakia.

The Three Lions got their tournament off to a shaky start, failing to hold a 1-0 lead despite badly outshooting Russia, who pulled even with a goal in stoppage time.

That 1-1 draw represents the only blemish on England's record since the squad began preparing for the tournament last month, tallying victories over Turkey, Australia and Portugal in pre-tournament matchups. They are now 4-1-0 in five matches ahead of Monday afternoon's game at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in St-Etienne.

The squad received major contributions from substitutes in their victory against Wales, as Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge both scored after coming off the bench to erase a 1-0 deficit at halftime. Both could get the nod as starters against Slovakia.

While a single point would be enough to assure at least a second-place finish for England, the situation is far more dire for the Falcons, who will find themselves firmly atop the elimination bubble with anything less than a win.

With three points, Slovakia is currently deadlocked with Wales on the Group B table, but the Dragons hold the tiebreaker edge on the strength of their 2-1 group stage win over the Falcons.

The Slovaks are well-positioned in the ranking of third-place squads at the tourney, trailing only Northern Ireland, who lead the way on goal differential. However, they are far from assured a place in the top four in that group.

Slovakia has never picked up a win over England in their brief history in European soccer, losing all three previous meetings with the Three Lions. They most recently dropped a 4-0 decision in an international friendly seven years ago.

Slovakia vs. England Prediction: 2-0 England
