The Placer County Sheriff's Office announced on Friday that domestic violence charges have been filed against Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison (via CSN Bay Area).

Here's the official statement from the Placer County District Attorney:

"

The initial reports were submitted to our office for review by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office on June 1st, 2016. Our office additionally requested and received photographs of the victim’s injuries in the case and a copy of the 911 call made by the victim on May 30th, 2016. The charges stem from Collison's arrest in Placer County, California, on May 31 for allegedly "inflicting corporal injury" to his wife, Keyosha Collison, per the official police report (via Sam Amick of USA Today).

Per Amick, "Placer County deputies responded to a call at 1 a.m. Monday by a woman with visible injuries," and Collison was subsequently arrested.

"We've been made aware of the situation. The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known we will take appropriate steps," the Kings said in a statement after his arrest, per CBS Sacramento.

The 28-year-old Collison has played with the New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks in his seven-year NBA career before spending the last two seasons with the Kings.
