There’s no doubt that Argentina is the class of Copa America this year following a second-place finish to Chile in 2015. The Argentinians have surrendered only one goal in the tourney, and that came against the Chileans in a 2-1 title game rematch back on June 6 in San Francisco. Since then, they have routed Panama 5-0 and Bolivia 3-0 en route to winning Group D.

Venezuela has also allowed just one score so far but placed second in Group C behind Mexico, losing the tiebreaker due to goal difference. The Venezuelans gave up the lone goal to El Tricolor in a 1-1 tie Monday to close out group play following a pair of 1-0 wins over Jamaica and Uruguay in their previous two matches.

While their defense has been strong, the offense is a major question mark and the main reason they are massive +800 underdogs (bet $100 to win $800) to upset Argentina in regular time. They have been unable to tally more than one goal in any of their first three games while the Argentinians have yet to score less than two.

While Argentina has fared well in Copa America previously, with three runner-up finishes in the past four tournaments and two titles since 1991, this is more unfamiliar territory for Venezuela. The Venezuelans did not qualify for the knockout stage a year ago and have only one semifinal appearance ever, in 2011. They are one of two South American countries that has never won the tourney (Ecuador is the other).

You also have to go back all the way to 2013 to find the last time these countries met in a World Cup qualifier, with Argentina coming out on top in a 3-0 victory. This match should be more of the same with an identical score predicted.

Argentina vs. Venezuela Prediction: 3-0 Argentina
