
Derek Willis, Kentucky Basketball Player, Arrested: Latest Details and Comments
Kentucky Wildcats forward Derek Willis was arrested for public intoxication on June 11 in Union, Kentucky, after he was found passed out next to his car, according to WCPO.com.
On Friday, Jason Riley of WDRB.com reported, "Willis will have to perform community service or some other court-ordered program and upon completion can then get the charge dismissed and erased from his record."
Willis reportedly told the Boone County Sheriff's Department he drank "a lot" prior to his arrest. WCPO also reported the 20-year-old was released on a $50 bond.

According to the Courier-Journal's Jon Hale, the police citation noted, "Willis had extremely slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and 'was a danger to himself and others.'"
"We are aware of the situation and are still gathering more information," Kentucky spokeswoman Deb Moore said in a statement, per Hale. "We will hold any further comment until it is deemed necessary."
