Seattle Marathon 2016: Rock N Roll Route, Course Map, Times, Event Details
The United States' Copa America quarterfinal from CenturyLink Field will be settled and the Mariners will be out of town, which means that it's all about running in the Pacific Northwest with the Alaska Airlines Rock 'n' Roll Seattle Marathon on Saturday, June 18.
With thousands of runners expected to take part, participants will be led through the city and its surrounding areas. You can see the course map here, followed by important race information:
| Saturday, June 18 | 7 a.m. | Seattle Center | CenturyLink Field | 6 Hours |
While many of the runners are casual competitors, there are elite athletes that will be hitting the course in Seattle.
For those elite runners, a cash prize will be awarded to the best of the best. All male runners who run a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and under, along with all women at 2:43:00 and under, will receive $1,000, with the winner of the race receiving an additional $500.
For runners who might not consider themselves elite, they'll have an opportunity to enjoy live local bands throughout the course along with cheer squads to keep spirits high.
And once they move past the finish line, there will be a nice, cold beer waiting for them—which is much deserved for having run 26.2 miles.
