Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Anyone who watched TakeOver saw two massive individuals attack Jason Jordan and Chad Gable following their match with The Revival.
These two men are known as The Authors of Pain, and they are led by none other than former Road Warriors manager and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering.
They will be taking on two local workers for their first bout, which means they will win in decisive fashion. The Authors of Pain are two of the biggest guys to come along in quite some time, so it will be interesting to see how they are used.
The second tag match of the night will see newcomers TM61 go up against Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy, who no longer have Alexa Bliss in their corner to help them win.
TM61, formerly known as The Mighty Don't Kneel, are a big get for NXT. They formed six years ago and have made names for themselves all over the world.
This incarnation consists of Michael Nicholls and Shane Veryzer, who have been renamed Nick Miller and Shane Thorne, respectively.
The Australian wrestlers are looking to continue building their resumes in WWE, and defeating former NXT tag team champions would be a great way to start.
Carmella will represent the women's division in a match against Tessa Blanchard, daughter of WWE legend Tully Blanchard.
Getting this win is important for Carmella, as she is trying to forge her own path after management separated her from Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.
It's equally important for Blanchard to impress officials if she hopes to be offered a developmental deal in the future.
The main event will be a rematch from TakeOver between Andrade "Cien" Almas and Perfect 10 Tye Dillinger.
Their bout last week was short, but both men impressed with their technical abilities and the smoothness with which they executed every move.
This will be Almas' second televised match, so there's a good chance he will win to keep his momentum going, which sucks for Dillinger.
Dillinger has been the epitome of a workhorse in NXT. He always puts on a great performance, but he is also always putting someone else over.
He needs to be given a real winning streak and a shot at a major storyline to see if he is worth all the time and effort that have gone into training him.
It's hard for the episode following a TakeOver special to match up in quality, but this week's show looks like it will provide a good level of entertainment.
Which match are you looking forward to the most on Wednesday?
