Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Dimitri Payet and Diego Costa Rumours
West Ham United will reportedly not sell Dimitri Payet "at any price" this summer and have informed Chelsea as much in a bid to ward off the Blues' interest.
That's according to the Guardian's Paul Doyle. Goal's Harry Sherlock recently reported the Hammers had set a £60 million price tag for the Frenchman, but it seems even that may not be enough to tempt them into parting with their playmaker.
Payet enjoyed a phenomenal debut season with West Ham, racking up 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. That saw him rewarded with a lengthy new contract midway through his first season at the club, per BBC Sport.

His form also earned him a call-up to Didier Deschamps' France squad for the 2016 UEFA European Championship, and in the hosts' opening game he came to the rescue with a stunning hit.

Football writer Liam Canning was one of many to sing his praises following the remarkable strike, which topped off an all-round outstanding performance:
Squawka Football revealed further details behind his incredible showing:
Indeed, the 29-year-old's majestic passing and boundless creativity provides those ahead of him with plenty of ammunition. Meanwhile, his clever dribbling and ability to score from distance make him a potent goal threat in his own right—not to mention his dead-ball skills, from which he can put in dangerous crosses or shoot at goal himself to great effect.
His talents would make him an excellent capture for any Premier League side, so it's understandable the Hammers aren't prepared to sell him, particularly to a domestic rival.
The Blues may still attempt to test their resolve with sizeable bid, but it seems as though Payet will be staying put for the time being.

Meanwhile, according to the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba, incoming Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte faces a fight to keep Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge as Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone wants to bring him back to his former club.
Simeone is hoping the powers that be at the Vicente Calderon Stadium can "find the funds to make Chelsea an offer for Costa that they can’t refuse."
Further, the Atleti boss is hoping he may have more luck in recruiting Costa if the Blues can sign one of their forward targets this summer—Alvaro Morata, Gonzalo Higuain or Romelu Lukaku.
Per Squawka News, Los Rojiblancos president Enrique Cerezo believes Costa is open to a return:
However, as Simeone recognises, Chelsea can ill afford to part with him until another striker is brought in, as they're already light on viable alternatives.
The Spain international could well move once a new signing arrives, but with Conte hoping to keep him he may opt to stay put.
