Adrien Broner Assault and Theft Lawsuit Reportedly Dropped

A lawsuit against boxer Adrien Broner stemming from his alleged assault and robbery of a man outside a Cincinnati bowling alley in January has reportedly been dropped. 

Citing documents filed in Cincinnati, TMZ Sports reported the alleged victim dropped the lawsuit against Broner after claiming the super lightweight fighter assaulted him and robbed him of more than $12,000. 

Broner's lawyer told TMZ that the boxer is "moving forward" but did not comment on a potential settlement with the plaintiff. 

However, Broner will still face charges of felonious assault and aggravated robbery following the alleged altercation. 

Citing sources, TMZ reported Broner lost thousands of dollars in bowling bets with the victim and sought to recoup his money in a bout of frustration. 

According to court documents retrieved by TMZ, Broner allegedly "retrieved a handgun from his vehicle, approached the victim, demanded money, then struck [the victim] in the face with a closed fist a second time, this time causing the victim to be rendered unconscious."

In April, a grand jury formally indicted the 26-year-old on charges of felonious assault, aggravated robbery and robbery, according to Yahoo Sports' Andreas Hale. 

Broner's trial reportedly will begin in July.
