Stanley Cup Final 2016: Penguins vs. Sharks TV Schedule, Odds, Game 6 Pick

Justin NeumanJun 11, 2016

Heading into Game 5 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, the San Jose Sharks had all but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins were up 3-1 in the series with Game 5 at home and had a chance to clinch the first championship by a Pittsburgh franchise in the city since 1960.

You probably know what happened next. There was a flurry of goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, and the first period ended with the Sharks leading 3-2. Then, Sharks goalie Martin Jones turned into Martin Brodeur and stopped every shot Pittsburgh threw at him.

And when we say every shot, we mean every shot. Pittsburgh didn't score again the rest of the game, and the Sharks pushed the series back to San Jose with a 4-2 victory. Jones ended the night with 44 saves in total.

The Penguins outshot the Sharks 46-22, but every time they put the puck on net, Jones was there to make another incredible save. James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail summed it up best:

The NHL also put out a collection of a few of Jones' best saves on the evening:

That's the very definition of a goalie standing on his head.

Now the series shifts back to San Jose for Game 6, with the Sharks once again looking to keep their hopes alive. You can catch the game Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. For those who watch on television, NBC will have the coverage. Or if you prefer to stream the game, NBC Sports has you covered.

Probably based on Jones' performance in Game 5, Odds Shark shows bookmakers believe San Jose are the favorites for in Game 6. The odds are set at minus-113 for the Sharks, meaning you'd have to wager $113 to win $100. The public still believes in the Penguins, however, as 59 percent of the bets are on Pittsburgh.

If the Penguins are able to continue their assault on the Sharks goalkeeper, it would make sense to pick them to win. They have looked like the better team the entire series, so it's hard to expect that to change. Look for the Penguins to keep pressuring Jones and finally find a way to get a couple past him.

Prediction: Penguins win 2-1
