Myles Simmons of the Rams' official website announced that Gurley is available against New York in Week 10.
Gurley Struggling to Build on Impressive Rookie Campaign
This is another physical setback for the former No. 10 overall pick, who already tore his ACL at Georgia.
It's been a down season compared to his rookie year. Through eight games in 2016, Gurley has recorded 451 yards on 146 carries for a 3.1 yards-per-carry average and three touchdowns.
Gurley did play 13 games in his rookie campaign and finished with 1,106 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on his way to being named the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year. The explosive running back brings a valuable combination of power and speed, which helps him burst through holes and run straight through arm tackles as the featured ball-carrier in the Rams attack.
Los Angeles will likely turn toward Benjamin Cunningham should Gurley be forced to the sidelines in Week 10 or beyond. While he isn't an established star at the NFL level, Cunningham was durable through his first three seasons and missed just two of 48 regular-season games during that span. He also had four touchdown runs entering the 2016 campaign.
While the Rams have some depth at the physically grinding position, Gurley is their primary playmaker and best offensive hope at challenging for a postseason spot. Los Angeles would have a difficult time remaining in playoff contention without him.
