Joique Bell: Latest News, Rumors, Speculation Surrounding Free-Agent RB

Bell Preparing to Play in 2016

According to SiriusXM NFL Radio, the former Wayne State standout said there are suitors for his services:

When asked about his status last week, Bell told Lev Facher of the Detroit Free Press he was "99 percent sure" he would play in 2016 and that he had at least two and as many as three offers on the table.

His tenure with the Detroit Lions ended after four seasons, but Bell harbors no ill will toward his former team:

Per Justin Rogers of MLive.com, Bell revealed that the Lions did make him an offer in February, but he decided to turn it down.

Bell struggled last season, rushing for just 311 yards and four touchdowns on 90 carries in 13 games to go along with 22 receptions for 286 yards.

He topped 1,000 total yards and scored eight touchdowns in each of the previous two seasons as Detroit's primary back, but he lost touches to Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick in 2015.

The Michigan native proved to be a sure-handed receiver and tough runner between the tackles in previous years, so it is understandable why there is a market for him even as he approaches 30 years of age.

Bell may no longer be capable of carrying the load like he often did during his time with the Lions, but his skill set suggests he could still be valuable in a complementary role elsewhere.
