NBA Finals Betting: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Game 4 Odds

OddsShark.comJun 9, 2016

The Cleveland Cavaliers snapped a seven-game series losing streak against the Golden State Warriors with a 120-90 rout at home in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Cavaliers played extremely well without Kevin Love (concussion) and had not beaten the Warriors since Game 3 of the 2015 NBA Finals.

Cleveland now heads into Game 4 on Friday night as a two-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

The Cavaliers played most of last year’s playoffs without Love, and they proved they did not need him in blowing out defending NBA champ Golden State.

Behind a game-high 32 points from LeBron James and 30 from Kyrie Irving, Cleveland’s Big Two did more than enough as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson continued to struggle for the Warriors. The top scoring duo in the league was held to 29 combined points in Game 3.

The fact that Golden State still owns a 2-1 series lead without Curry and Thompson playing well should be the main storyline right now. However, that can change dramatically with another win in Game 4 by the Cavs, who are a perfect 8-0 straight up and 7-1 against the spread at home in the playoffs, according to the Odds Shark NBA Database.

To earn a victory in Game 4 and even the series, Cleveland has to continue doing what the team has already done in the first three games defensively and make other Warriors try to beat them.

That will be no easy task for Golden State at Quicken Loans Arena, as either Curry or Thompson must have a breakout game if their team is to have any shot of closing out the Cavs in Game 5 on Monday.

Without Love, Cleveland went with a smaller lineup in Game 3, replacing him with Richard Jefferson. Love is likely to return for Game 4, according to the Akron Beacon Journal's Jason Lloyd, but since the team is playing better without him, head coach Tyronn Lue may keep Jefferson in the lineup regardless of whether his starting power forward is able to go.

The Cavaliers earned their first victory of the series by dominating the Warriors inside with a 52-32 rebounding advantage, and they will need to continue that trend to turn this into a best-of-three series.
