Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Andre Gomes, Hirving Lozano Rumours
After securing the capture of Villarreal defender Eric Bailly, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly hoping to bring in three more players this summer, with a midfielder and a striker thought to be his priorities—and Valencia's Andre Gomes could be one of them.
That's according to the Daily Mail's Mike Keegan, who notes the Portuguese midfielder is a "key midfield target" for the Red Devils.
Per Italian outlet Alfredo Pedulla (h/t the Daily Star's Jonathan Green), United have made a £35.2 million bid for him.

As noted by La Liga writer Andrew Gaffney, the 22-year-old endured a difficult season at the Mestalla amid the club's torrid campaign, but has shown great potential in his time there:
BeIN Sports' David Cartlidge has been similarly impressed:
A move to an elite club seems almost inevitable for the Portugal midfielder, who will be plying his trade at UEFA Euro 2016 this summer.
United could use an injection of youth and mobility into their midfield—too often they relied on Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick in the centre last year, while Bastian Schweinsteiger also offered little dynamism when he was fit.
Gomes is an excellent candidate to improve their squad, and a fresh start could do him good after a difficult year.
Meanwhile, per Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News, Andrea Fassi—vice-president of Mexican club Pachuca—has revealed that United "have made an approach" for forward Hirving Lozano, but the youngster is in the dark on the situation.
Lozano, who is with Mexico's squad for the Copa America, said:
"I think I'm calm. I have not been told anything.
I don't know about it and I must concentrate on the national team, finish the tournament and then see what happens.
The truth is I cannot say [where he will play next season]. First, I want to focus on this tournament, give my best and after talking to my club, we'll see what the chances are.
"
The 20-year-old is an exciting prospect who can play across the front three, though he is most often deployed on the left or right.
WhoScored.com revealed why United may be interested in him:
He also provided 10 assists in all competitions. Here are some of his highlights:
As the video revealed, the pacey forward loves to run at defenders and has an eye for goal, too. Per journalists Tom Marshall and Eric Gomez, Lozano's skills have made him a target for the opposition:
Fox Sports' Keith Costigan believes he has a great future ahead of him:
Though he's not an out-and-out striker, United have few players who can add natural width to their side and Lozano could do just that.
Further, his presence could free up Anthony Martial for his natural role in the centre, as the Frenchman was largely deployed on the left by Louis van Gaal last season.
Once the Copa is over, it would not be a surprise if the club stepped up their pursuit of him.
