Chelsea Transfer News: Latest on Radja Nainggolan and Yacine Brahimi Rumours

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has revealed that incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has met with him to discuss a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to Uche Amako of the Express, Nainggolan spoke to reporters on Wednesday and confirmed he had held talks with Conte, while his Chelsea-based Belgium team-mates are also attempting to persuade him to move:

I have met with Antonio Conte and I know he wanted me at Juventus.

He has told me what kind of player I can be for him and I feel he still wants me.

However, I am now concentrating on the next few weeks and to see what will happen. 

Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard have already asked me to come to Chelsea, but a possible transfer is not in my head.

Though he insists he is concentrating on the European Championships, he has recently expressed interest in joining the Blues, per Squawka News:

Chelsea are in need of a revamp in central midfield, and the 28-year-old would make an excellent signing.

According to Squawka, the enforcer won 52 tackles and made 46 interceptions in Serie A last season. Going forward, he was perhaps unfortunate to register just one assist given he created 42 chances for his team-mates, but he enjoyed his best goalscoring campaign yet with six goals.

Last season, the Blues lacked a reliable holding midfielder with Nemanja Matic struggling, and Nainggolan could bring some valuable bite and tenacity to the team.

The saga may well rumble on beyond Euro 2016 in France, though, at least until Belgium's part in the tournament is over.

Meanwhile, the Blues are reportedly nearing a deal for Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (h/t Metro's Tom Olver), Chelsea "are in the final stages of negotiations" and "a deal could be wrapped up in the coming days." Further, "Porto want £23.5 million for Brahimi but could be tempted to settle for around half of that fee."

If Chelsea can get him for around £12 million as reported, he could be a decent acquisition, given his obvious talent.

Should the Blues fail to land him at a knockdown price, his fee may be difficult to justify if he can't deliver the goods each week.
