Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rob Holding and Samuel Chukwueze Rumours
Arsenal are ready to make Bolton Wanderers defender Rob Holding their second signing of the summer transfer window after agreeing a fee for his signature. However, a deal for Samuel Chukwueze has reportedly fallen through.
According to Football Insider, the Gunners will sign Holding for a modest fee of £1.5 million—including add-ons—after already bringing Granit Xhaka to the club this summer (h/t David Wright of the Daily Express).

Holding has played his entire career with the Trotters—bar a short loan at Bury in 2015—and first joined Bolton's academy at the age of seven, working his way through their ranks before earning his senior debut last year.
The 21-year-old was one of Bolton's few gems during last season's relegation campaign from the Championship and was even named Player of the Season in his maiden first-team term:
The Gunners will be getting their hands on a major prospect, who recently made his return from France after featuring for England's under-21 side as they won the 2016 Toulon Tournament title.
Arsenal fan account Renato recently posted footage of the calm and composed figure in action, who looks set to make the trip to north London:
Holding will hardly be considered an immediate challenger for the first team, but as Per Mertesacker approaches his 32nd birthday and Calum Chambers' first-team role falls under scrutiny, reinforcements may be desired.
Martyn Macintyre of the Forest Echo recently sang high praises of the youngster, who shone brightly throughout the course of his first season in the Championship:
"Never seen a player consistently mark two angles at the same time as consistently as Rob Holding 2015/16. Excellent signing for #afc

There's less positive news in the hunt for Chukwueze, however, after Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported a dispute over payments meant the youngster won't complete a move to Arsenal (h/t Sport Witness).
According to the report, Chukwueze's current club, Nigerian outfit Diamond Academy, refused Arsenal's pledge to pay half the agreed €3 million (£2.4 million) fee now and the rest in future instalments. BBC Sport's Oluwashina Okeleji elaborated that Porto and AS Monaco are also interested in the teenager:
Chukwueze, 17, has been fiercely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, particularly after the Telegraph revealed in March that fellow Nigerian youngster Kelechi Nwakali had moved to north London.
Sport Witness correctly asserted A Bola's report may be taken with a pinch of salt owing to the fact Porto are involved in the saga, but Arsenal may yet reconsider their offer to land the African starlet.
