Djokovic vs. Murray: Score, Highlights from French Open Men's Final 2016
No. 1 Novak Djokovic def. No. 2 Andy Murray 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4
No. 1 Novak Djokovic captured his first French Open championship by winning three straight sets against No. 2 Andy Murray in the men's final at Philippe Chatrier Court on Sunday.
The victory secured the career Grand Slam for the top player in the world, who now has 12 major victories to his name.
Djokovic looked like he would dominate from the start as he broke Murray in the first game of the match, but Murray responded with a break of his own that led to a first-set victory.
After Murray secured the first set, Djokovic won the first three games of the second set. At the start of the third, he picked up a critical break as he won on Murray's second service game.
Murray displayed some resiliency in the fourth set, breaking Djokovic at 2-5 during the champion's first attempt to serve for the tournament, but Djokovic closed the match during his second try on serve.
The title was the fifth in the last six major tournaments for Djokovic, whose only blemish since the start of 2015 is last year's French Open final loss to Stanislas Wawrinka.
