Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Martin Skrtel Exit, Philippe Coutinho Rumours
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is reportedly edging closer to the Anfield exit after Besiktas told the Reds they're willing to pay £7 million for his signature. Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain are said to be preparing a move for Philippe Coutinho.
According to the Sun's Alan Nixon, Super Lig champions Besiktas are offering around £7 million for Skrtel, and manager Jurgen Klopp "will do business" as he looks to stamp his mark on the team this summer.
Joel Matip is set to arrive at Liverpool on a free transfer from Schalke 04 this summer, while Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho appear to be Klopp's first-choice central defenders for the time being.

What's more, broadcaster Nik Postinger has attested to £7 million being a rather good deal for a 31-year-old with two years remaining on his current contract:
Skrtel's eight-year stay at Anfield seems likely to come to an end after the Slovakia centre-back fell further away from Klopp's XI this season, and the player's agent has hinted a move is likely.
Speaking to Slovakian broadcaster TV Markiza last week, Karol Csonto said his client is a probable departure from Anfield this summer (h/t talkSPORT): "Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin, but we're haven't reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else. I can say that it is 90 percent sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed."
Meanwhile, star playmaker Coutinho is reportedly being eyed by Ligue 1 champions PSG, although the Liverpool Echo's Neil Jones made sure to point out "no approach has been made."
The Reds' Player of the Year has shown himself to be a maestro of immense potential, although consistency has been an issue of some concern, and football writer Julian De Martinis isn't convinced:
"I don't think Coutinho is that good and for any serious offer, Liverpool could find much more consistent and impactful players

The Brazil international scored 12 goals and recorded seven assists in 43 total appearances last season, and he's sure to attract even more attention as he prepares for Brazil's 2016 Copa America campaign.
ESPN's James Tyler was critical of the South American during the UEFA Europa League final, however, lambasting the attacker's apparent lack of work rate:
According to Jones, PSG aren't the only European powerhouse keeping tabs on Coutinho, either, and after seeing Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling leave in recent seasons, Liverpool face another test of will this summer.
It's mentioned in the report that Liverpool issued a hands-off warning to Manchester City in their chase for Coutinho last year, but PSG could prove an altogether more concerning foe to fend off.
