Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors: Live Score, Analysis for Game 1
Shaun Livingston scored 20 points off the bench to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 104-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
This was about as unorthodox of a win as you will see from the Warriors.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined for just 20 points, the lowest combined scoring output from the two All-Stars this season.
They shot 8-of-27 from the floor and went 4-of-13 from three-point range.
Yet, Golden State was able to build a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter thanks to heroic efforts from Livingston, Andre Iguodala and the rest of the Warriors' bench.
Iguodala added 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and some stellar defense in an all-around effort, and Leandro Barbosa chipped in 11 points off a perfect 5-of-5 clip.
In total, Golden State's reserves scored 45 points.
Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers with 26, going 7-of-22 from the field and making 11 of his 12 free-throw attempts.
LeBron James posted 23 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, and Kevin Love tallied 17 points and 13 boards.
The Cavs actually took a one-point lead at one juncture during the third period, but it was short-lived, as the Dubs went into the final frame with a 74-68 edge.
The Warriors went on a 15-0 run between the third and fourth quarters, taking the air out of the Cavaliers.
Golden State shot 49.4 percent and held Cleveland to a 38.1 percent success rate.
Game 2 is 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night at Oracle Arena.
