According to Greg Stobart of Squawka Football, the new deal would make the striker the highest-paid player at the football club.
It’s also noted that while the Red Devils made a £50 million offer to land the forward prior to the previous term, new manager Jose Mourinho is said to be a “huge admirer” of the 22-year-old. Real Madrid are also noted to have an interest in Kane.
The striker penned a five-and-a-half-year deal with his current club in February 2015 after initially bursting onto the scene. Since then, he’s gone from strength to strength, with his finishing vital in Tottenham’s title challenge in the 2015-16 season.
Kane bagged an impressive 21 goals in the Premier League in his breakthrough year, a mark he bettered in the season just gone with 25, enough to earn him the division’s top-scorer award.
Harry Sherlock of Goal put the goalscoring qualities of Kane into context, comparing him to England captain Wayne Rooney:
Kane has made major improvements this season, too. Manager Mauricio Pochettino seems to have brought the best out of the young striker, assisting in refining his work rate, hold-up play and intelligence in terms of where he positions himself on the field. Subsequently, the Tottenham No. 10 has blossomed into a complete forward.
He looks as though he’s only going to get better. Kane has shown he can shine on the international stage with some impressive displays for England, and having gone close to winning the domestic league title with Spurs in the previous campaign, he will be keen to sample that kind of challenge again. The White Hart Lane outfit look well capable of meeting his ambitions.
