Jones Reveals Free-Agent Preferences

Jones said on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he is in playing shape and is waiting for an opportunity:
The San Jose, California, native and San Jose State alum also admitted on SiriusXM NFL Radio he would like to play for the San Francisco 49ers if that chance should arise.
Jones is coming off a strong 2015 regular season that saw him catch 50 passes for 890 yards and eight touchdowns with the Green Bay Packers.
The former third-round pick has spent all but one of his NFL seasons with the Pack, as he signed with the Oakland Raiders for the 2014 campaign only to return to Green Bay one year later.
Jones has racked up at least 635 receiving yards in each of the past six seasons, and he has 51 career touchdown grabs to his credit, including a league-leading 14 in 2012.
With a nose for the end zone and a knack for making big plays downfield, Jones would be an excellent complementary target for most NFL teams, and it likely wouldn't take a significant investment in terms of years or salary to land him.
A return to Green Bay is always possible, but with Jordy Nelson back healthy to go along with Randall Cobb, Davante Adams and the emerging Jeff Janis, it can be argued there would be too many mouths to feed.
Injuries are inevitable leading up to the season, and they could open the door for Jones to land with a team in the near future.
He has proven himself to be a reliable target on a yearly basis for the past several seasons, and even though it is taking a bit longer than expected for him to catch on somewhere, the fact that he performed so well in 2015 suggests that a 10th NFL season in 2016 is likely.
