French Open 2016 Results: Winners, Scores, Stats from Saturday's Singles Bracket
Novak Djokovic's search for a maiden French Open title continued Saturday after the men's singles' No. 1 seed defeated Aljaz Bedene 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 to claim his spot in the fourth round of the 2016 competition.
Rain delays interrupted Saturday's proceedings, but women's top seed Serena Williams retained enough momentum to see off French contender Kristina Mladenovic 6-4, 7-6(10) and move into the next round.
David Ferrer also joined Djokovic in the last 16 after defeating Feliciano Lopez 6-4, 7-6(6), 6-1, while Ernests Gulbis advanced after Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was forced to retire in the first set due to injury.

Recap
Britain's Bedene put up a valiant fight to survive in his Parisian adventure, but Djokovic was able to keep the underdog at arm's length in a win that hardly showed the tournament favourite at his best.
Djokovic had the added burden of attempting to finish his matchup quickly to avoid trickling into Sunday's schedule, and he managed to rally through and maintain his streak, per ESPN Tennis, in just over two hours:
"Novak Djokovic wins his 24th consecutive match at a Major, downing Aljaz Bedene 6-2 6-3 6-3. He’s 37-1 in Slam matches since start of 2015.

Bedene impressed on the serve at times and outdid his opponent in aces, eight to five, per the official Roland Garros website. But the Briton was found lacking in composure throughout the tie.
At the very least, Bedene couldn't be criticised for not fighting to the very last, while Djokovic advances to the fourth round, where he'll come up against Spanish star Roberto Bautista-Agut.
Williams' victory over Mladenovic was put on hold because of the adverse conditions in Paris, but the American eventually resumed her mauling to beat the No. 26 seed out of the running with a straight-set win.
Mladenovic's errors counted against her, as she recorded seven double-faults to Williams' two, per the official Roland Garros website. It was a skewed forehand return that sealed her fate, as shown by Eurosport UK:
Three matches down and Williams is yet to surrender a set, but Ukraine's Svitolina showed she might be the woman to provide a tougher test after she ended the run of 14th seed Ivanovic on Saturday.
Svitolina made relatively light work of her fellow eastern European and defeated Ivanovic in straight sets to set up a fourth-round bout with Williams, scheduled to take place on Sunday.
Back in the men's draw, Ferrer continued his fine run of form over compatriot Lopez. He will face Tomas Berdych next after he beat Pablo Cuevas 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 on Saturday evening.
The official Roland Garros Twitter account pointed out just how comprehensively Ferrer has beaten his Spanish countryman in recent meetings:
Meanwhile, the Guardian's Kevin Mitchell reported Tsonga was in tears leaving the court with injury against Gulbis, bringing an abrupt end to his tournament just as he was on the verge of winning the first set at 5-2 up.
Bautista-Agut had a far more pleasant third-round outing and is now enjoying his best-ever French Open run after a straight-set win against Borna Coric, per ESPN Tennis:
"Roberto Bautista Agut has his best career French Open result, reaching Round of 16 with 6-2 6-3 6-3 win over Borna Coric. #RG16
— ESPNTennis (@ESPNTennis) May 28, 2016"
Berdych had to fight for his comeback win over Uruguayan upstart Cuevas, who looked capable of flying a lonely flag for South America in the fourth round, only for his challenge to come undone over four sets.
Timea Bacsinszky made light work of Pauline Parmentier en route to a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the morning session, but she too will face a tougher task in the fourth round in the shape of Venus Williams. The elder Williams sister overcame a mid-match lull to beat Alize Cornet, per the New York Times' Christopher Clarey:
Madison Keys was forced to a tiebreak in the first set of her fixture opposite Cuba's Monica Puig, but the American ultimately cruised to a 7-6(3), 6-3 win.
She'll clash against Kiki Bertens next after the Dutch underdog surprised No. 29 seed Daria Kasatkina with a tiebreak win to advance in the hopes she can record another shock against Keys.
