Cruz spoke about his injury with Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg on WEPN-FM's The Michael Kay Show on Aug. 10 (via James Kratch of NJ.com):

It feels good. I tweaked it yesterday, just a little bit.

I didn't want to go through practice and have the risk of injuring it even more. But I woke up today, felt good, and I've been getting treatment on it all day. I'm not worried about it. It's not a big deal. It's something that happens. But I anticipate being back out there in a few days, and getting after it again.

Injury-Plagued Cruz Hopes to Rediscover Form

Cruz missed the entire 2015 season after suffering a left calf injury, and the long-term ailment came on the heels of a patellar tendon tear in his right knee during Week 6 of the 2014 campaign.

Expectations should be tempered if and when Cruz returns to game action, but there's no denying the 29-year-old can help bolster the team's receiving corps on a supplementary basis.

Beckham Jr. is the clear star of quarterback Eli Manning's pass-catching arsenal, and rookie Sterling Shepard should help stabilize things. But Cruz has an established rapport with the signal-caller that can't be discounted.
