Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest David De Gea, Thibaut Courtois Rumours
The future of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea remains a hotly debated topic, with Spanish football insider Guillem Balague claiming Real Madrid have a £39 million option they can use to bring the Spain No. 1 back to the Spanish capital. The club has also reportedly been talking to Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois.
On Wednesday, the Sun (h/t Jamie Anderson in the Daily Star) reported Jose Mourinho, who is rumoured to become the next United manager, has already contacted De Gea to convince him to stay at the club.
Per Balague, the move would come down to several factors, but there is an agreement between the parties as far as price goes, as reported by Jack Wilson of the Daily Star:

"There is a private agreement by which Real Madrid could actually get David de Gea if they pay 50m euros. There is a time limit to that.
I'm pretty sure [Jose] Mourinho will want De Gea to stay but it will be a decision that will involve both De Gea and Real Madrid.
At the beginning of the season everyone expected De Gea to be the next Galactico but now the situation has changed, not only because Jose Mourinho has arrived at Manchester United, but also Keylor Navas has done really well.
So what Real have done in recent weeks in case they don't get De Gea, is try to convince Thibaut Courtois to go to Real Madrid.
"
De Gea came agonisingly close to joining Los Blancos last summer, only to be denied by some late paperwork, per BBC Sport's Simon Stone. He signed a new deal with the Red Devils shortly after, but the contract was said to include a release clause Real could trigger, via Neil Custis of the Sun.
Since then, a lot has changed, and where De Gea once seemed destined to move to Real this summer, that is not the case now. Blancos goalkeeper Keylor Navas enjoyed a fantastic 2015-16 campaign, and the club no longer has a clear need for a new goalkeeper.

But rumours continue to swirl. Per Alvaro de la Rosa of AS, president Florentino Perez is a big fan of De Gea, who would be a younger and more marketable option than Navas. And with Navas asking for an improved contract, now would be the time to make the move.
Here's a look at some of Navas' top highlights of this season:
Like De Gea, Courtois is another younger, more marketable version who is already hugely popular in the capital after his time with Atletico Madrid. And while the Belgian seems even less likely to be on the move this summer, he too has been frequently linked with Los Blancos.
Accoding to Liam Corless of the Daily Mirror, Courtois told reporters he will stay with the Blues if "nothing strange happens," pointing to his three-year contract and the team's title aspirations under new manager Antonio Conte.
De Gea's situation is more complex. In March, Bleacher Report's Dean Jones reported the hiring of Mourinho could be enough to keep him at the club:
Keeping hold of the 25-year-old will be one of Mourinho's top goals of the summer if he does get the job, and after the season Navas had, one has to assume Real will find it harder to pick the Spaniard over the Costa Rican than they did a year ago.
