Everton to Make Big-Money Offer for Hart

Tuesday, May 24

According to an exclusive from the Sun's Alan Nixon, the Toffees' "ambitious super-rich new owner Farhad Moshiri" is preparing a bid of "around £40 million" and a £200,000-per-week deal for the England international.

Tim Howard's departure from the club after a decade at Goodison Park leaves Everton in need of a new No. 1 as back-up stopper Joel Robles has not always convinced.

Meanwhile, per Nixon, Hart's place in Guardiola's revolution is seemingly under threat as the Spaniard would prefer "a keeper who is better with the ball at his feet."

Indeed, according to Squawka, Hart's distribution success in the Premier League this season was 59 per cent. Manuel Neuer, whom Guardiola managed at Bayern Munich, boasted an 83 per cent success rate, so his concern over Hart's abilities could be warranted.

The 29-year-old is still an excellent stopper and would be a fantastic signing for Everton, though.

While Hart would likely prefer a side competing for the title and in the UEFA Champions League, it's not inconceivable the Toffees could pull off that feat if they are prepared to show the ambition in the transfer market they have previously been unable to due to their lack of funds.
