Adam Rose Released by WWE: Latest Comments and Reaction

WWE announced Monday it released Adam Rose.  

Rose joins what has been an exodus of midcard wrestlers from WWE. The company confirmed the departures of Wade Barrett, Santino Marella, Damien Sandow and Alex Riley, among others, on May 6, and it released Cody Rhodes on Sunday.

Rose hasn't appeared on WWE programming since earning a 60-day suspension for a wellness violation on April 16. He fought the punishment, posting a doctor's note on Twitter explaining his use of a prescribed medication.

However, the company then extended the suspension indefinitely after Tampa, Florida, police arrested Rose on May 11 charges of tampering with a witness and battery domestic violence, per Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrest records.

According to TMZ Sports, a Hillsborough County released Rose on $1,000 bond and ordered him to undergo counseling once per week until he appears in court again in June.

While some Superstars have successfully made the jump from NXT to the main roster, Rose struggled after his call-up to Raw. He brought the Exotic Express with him from Winter Park, Florida, which helped him connect with the WWE Universe early on:

Like Tyler Breeze, Bo Dallas and The Ascension, though, Rose's momentum stalled quickly, as WWE largely left him adrift following his promotion. Few Superstars could thrive when pitted in a feud against a guy in a bunny suit:

Joining The Social Outcasts helped Rose regain some of that momentum, as the group became one of the more entertaining aspects of Raw on a weekly basis:

Even with The Social Outcasts' success, Rose was still staring up at a glass ceiling. A transition from the midcard to the upper tier of the company was unlikely to arrive anytime soon, and his wellness violation in April likely ruined whatever long-term plans WWE had in mind for him.

Rose is charismatic, though his work in the ring never quite reached a high level. Should he want to continue his wrestling career, he'll likely land on his feet with another company.
