Liverpool Transfer News: Latest on Danny Drinkwater and Ben Chilwell Rumours
Liverpool have reportedly lined up a double raid on Leicester City this summer after midfield marvel Danny Drinkwater emerged as a priority target alongside defender Ben Chilwell.
The Mirror's Steve Bates reported Reds manager Jurgen Klopp was impressed with Drinkwater's performances en route to seeing Leicester lift the Premier League title and wants to sign the anchor.

The Foxes are said to value the 26-year-old at £14 million, but Bates went on to say Foxes chief Claudio Ranieri "will resist any attempts to entice away his key players" after this season's fairytale title triumph.
One of Drinkwater's former Manchester United coaches, Rene Meulensteen, has joined the line of those praising the midfielder, and he told 888sport his old club should re-sign the player (h/t Goal's Chris Davie):
"Drinkwater has a Manchester United history having come through the academy and look how he’s established himself in the Premier League. Sometimes you don’t have to look further because those players know what playing in the Premier League is all about.
"
Players like Danny Drinkwater who is now in the England squad would fit in nice and easily.
Liverpool already have an established engine room with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and James Milner, but the addition of Drinkwater would introduce another high-energy option to the mix.
The BBC's John Bennett recently hailed the Leicester man's talent after it was announced he was in Roy Hodgson's provisional 26-man England squad ahead of this summer's UEFA European Championship:
Drinkwater recorded two goals and seven assists in 35 Premier League outings this past season, making him the second-highest provider of assists in the Foxes squad behind Riyad Mahrez (11).
According to WhoScored.com, the former Red Devil also averaged at least 56.7 passes per league outing—at least 17 more than any other player in the Leicester squad.

Links tying Liverpool to left-back Chilwell are more established at this stage, and the Telegraph's John Percy said the Reds are "ready to open talks" for a player described as Klopp's "priority summer signing."
The England under-20 international is seemingly being lined up to—at the very least—provide competition for Alberto Moreno, whom BT Sport pundit Steve McManaman lambasted for his display in the UEFA Europa League final defeat to Sevilla on Wednesday:
Chilwell, 19, impressed during a three-month loan at Championship outfit Huddersfield Town earlier in the season and returned to the King Power in January, but he struggled to win a first-team spot from star signing Christian Fuchs.
Percy reported Arsenal's most recently rejected bid for Chilwell was worth £5 million plus another £2 million in bonuses, meaning the Merseysiders will have to trump that figure if they're to get their man.
