NASCAR at Charlotte 2016: Live Results from the Sprint All-Star Race
Joey Logano passed Kyle Larson on the closing laps to win a wild Sprint All-Star Race and it's $1 million prize on Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Logano held off his teammate Brad Keselowski after Larson got loose and made contact with the wall while racing hard for the lead. No Sprint Cup points were on the line, but you can bet the cool million bucks awarded to the winner are a sufficient prize.
The night was dominated by new rules introduced by NASCAR to jazz up the event and provide more excitement. The intent was good, but the interpretations of the rules left many drivers and teams angry and confused.
Those rules included mandatory green-flag pit stops during each segment and a random drawing between Segments 2 and 3 that forced some cars to stay out front and retain track position while others could pit for four tires.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch rounded out the top five.
NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series returns to action next Sunday with the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
