Rajon Rondo Beats Both Isiah Thomas, Greg Anthony in a Round of Connect Four
"You can't stop this one," Rondo explained to NBA Hall of Isiah Thomas and Turner Sports analyst Greg Anthony.
The inevitable success in question? Not one of the Sacramento Kings point guard's patented behind-the-back passes, but a sophisticated Connect Four trap to which both Thomas and Anthony fell prey to.
Rondo, something of a Connect Four connoisseur, took on Thomas as well as the assisting Anthony, and just like with his stealthy on-court move, he was easily able to overcome the initial defense and the help for the score.
Even the 20/20 clarity of hindsight couldn't save the pair of challengers; after Rondo rewound the game two moves to the benefit of his opposition, his strategy still prevailed.
"He got you. He ain't get me," Anthony said to Thomas after No. 9's first official victory.
The chips (and Rondo's grin), however, tell a different tale. He got them both.
