Barcelona Transfer News: Arda Turan Sale Reportedly Eyed, Latest Neymar Rumours

Barcelona are reportedly "open to offers" for midfielder Arda Turan despite only signing the Turkey international a year ago from Atletico Madrid. 

According to Ed Malyon in the Mirror, Turan has "failed to live up to expectations" at the Camp Nou, and Barca are now happy to move him on, although previous suitors Arsenal and Manchester United are "unlikely to revive" their interest.

Malyon added that Barca "have received encouragement from clubs in the Middle East, China and Turkey," but they will surely want to recoup most of the initial €34 million (£24 million) they paid Atleti for him.

Turan, 29, was unable to turn out for the Blaugrana until their FIFA-imposed registration ban was lifted in January, and he has since made only nine La Liga starts—and nine appearances from the bench—scoring two goals and providing three assists, per WhoScored.com.

His performances have been mixed, as shown by his varying statistics, per Opta:

Turan has played almost exclusively as a central midfielder, with Barca manager Luis Enrique reportedly "reluctant to utilise him as a wide forward" where he could cover for the likes of Neymar and Lionel Messi, per Malyon.

But it seems Barcelona have already seen enough and decided that he is not going to make the grade at the Camp Nou.

It seems a slightly premature conclusion to have come to, but if Barca can recoup the money they paid for him, perhaps by selling him to a Chinese Super League club, it looks as though Turan will be on his way out this summer. 

That will, in turn, open up funds to sign another wide man to add further depth to the squad, with Celta Vigo's Nolito a potential option, per Bleacher Report's Dean Jones and Sam Tighe:

Meanwhile, rumours continue to swirl around the potential departure of Neymar, with reports now suggesting the Brazilian would be "willing to speak to Real Madrid about a possible move," per Globo Esporte (via Marca's Harry De Cosemo).

The 24-year-old superstar has been linked to Real, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United recently as he has yet to extend his current Barca contract past 2018, but recent reports indicated he is set to finally put pen to paper on a new deal, per Radio Catalunya (via Calciomercato).

Globo Esporte (via Marca) claim he could be open to moving to the Santiago Bernabeu in a highly controversial switch, though it could just be a ploy from Neymar "to put pressure on the [Catalan] club" during contract negotiations.

That seems a more likely scenario as, even if Neymar were to leave the Catalan giants, the idea of him joining Barca's archrivals is inconceivable.
