Rangers' Double-A Team Honors Rougned Odor with 'Rougie's Red Punch' Drink
Professional sports teams are never going to condone violence, but when there's an opportunity for a little fun and a clever promotion, you better believe they are going to take it.
On Sunday, Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor introduced himself to the world by popping Toronto Blue Jays star Jose Bautista in the face in a benches-clearing incident. Baseball "brawls" often involve a lot of shoving and shouting, but not much real fighting. That's what made Odor's well-landed punch such a viral hit.
Well, the Frisco RoughRiders (the Rangers' Double-A affiliate) announced Tuesday that they have created "Rougie's Red Punch" in honor of the aggressive second baseman, who played for the team in parts of the 2013 and 2014 seasons. According to the news release, the alcoholic energy drink features fruit punch and an ingredient from Odor's native Venezuela.

"Odor is a feisty, energetic player, and we have come up [with] the perfect drink to honor him," RoughRiders executive vice president and general manager Jason Dambach said in the news release. "Rougie's Red Punch will punch you in the mouth with great flavor and an intense energy burst."
Maybe during his suspension, Odor will take some time to return to Frisco to try the drink. Or maybe the team will just send him some. Getting Odor to drink "Rougie's Red Punch" would be quite the spectacle.
