'Jeopardy!' Power Players Have No Idea Who Cam Newton Is

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was arguably the most talked-about player in the NFL last season—even non-football fans couldn't escape his popularity.

And yet, the 2015 NFL Most Valuable Player apparently isn't a household name throughout the country.

Jeopardy! is airing a special edition titled "Power Players" this week, and Tuesday night's episode featured CNN’s Anderson Cooper, 60 Minutes’ Lara Logan and MSNBC’s Michael Steele. While all three are very knowledgeable in their respective fields, sports is not an area of expertise for any of them.

But at least they can admit it. "We don't do sports," Logan offered.

When a basic question about Newton—the former Heisman Trophy winner who is coming off an MVP season in which he led his team to a Super Bowl berth—popped up, none of the contestants had a clue. 

Host Alex Trebek must love these exhibition episodes.
