Mets' Double-A Team Asks Fans to Pick New Nickname, Leads to Awesome Ballot

The Binghamton Mets (the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets) asked fans earlier this season to submit ideas for a new nickname that the team would use starting in 2017.

After receiving thousands of nominees for its new identity, the organization has narrowed the field to six finalists:

• Binghamton Bullheads
• Binghamton Gobblers
• Binghamton Rocking Horses
• Binghamton Rumble Ponies
• Binghamton Stud Muffins
• Binghamton Timber Jockeys

What a list.

Fans can go to the team's official website now through June 1 to cast their vote. It's tough to go wrong with any of those finalists, which should make for a close vote.

No matter the winner, an awesome logo is sure to be created out of this fan vote.
