Toronto Mayor Responds to Fan Poll That Snubbed the Raptors
CBS Sports polled fans about which team they thought would win the NBA title. With four teams left in the hunt, four options were given to choose from. Except the Toronto Raptors were noticeably absent:
Toronto fans could have easily lashed out, but instead, the result has been hilarious. The hashtag #WeTheOther—a clear play on the Raptors' slogan "We the North"—began to pick up steam:
Toronto Mayor John Tory even got involved, posting a perfect response that read, in part, "We're not the slightest bit offended. In fact, we're accustomed to being underestimated. Just a few days ago LeBron James said he was looking forward to playing the [Miami] Heat—a team that is now golfing."
Ooh, burn.
On the bright side, check out the rising popularity of Team Other:
Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors will go down Tuesday night. This should be good.
