Shia LaBeouf to Play John McEnroe in Upcoming Movie 'Borg/McEnroe'

Shia LaBeouf has been tabbed to play polarizing tennis icon John McEnroe in the upcoming film Borg/McEnroe.

The biopic, expected to be released in 2017 according to the Hollywood Reporter, will chronicle the rivalry between the American and Swede Bjorn Borg and their epic showdown in the 1980 Wimbledon final.

LaBeouf promoted the movie at the Cannes Film Festival in France over the weekend, speaking to the similarities he and McEnroe share during a press conference for the film American Honey:
