Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Arkadiusz Milik Rumours, Loris Karius Agreement

Sevilla reportedly "fear" they will miss out on Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik to either Liverpool or Everton, and the Reds have reportedly "reached an agreement" with Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius.

According to Seville-based newspaper Estadio Deportivo (h/t Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo), the Spanish side are interested in Milik but believe they will face stiff competition from Merseyside for his capture along with a number of other sides they report to be "interested" in him.

Milik therefore represents something of a gamble and they can ill afford another failed attempt to replace Suarez after Mario Balotelli and Christian Benteke's big-money moves, so Liverpool should tread with caution.

Meanwhile, in a bid to upgrade Simon Mignolet, the Reds have reportedly begun pursuit of Karius. According to German magazine Kicker, (h/t Metro's George Bellshaw), he has a release clause of just £7.9 million and Liverpool "are closing in on his signature after largely agreeing personal terms."

The Belgian has proven unreliable between the sticks at Anfield and an upgrade is undoubtedly needed if the Reds truly aim to rival the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City next season.

Karius has an exceptionally bright future ahead of him, and if Liverpool can acquire him for the reported clause they'll have snapped up a real bargain.
