Manchester United Transfer News: Romelu Lukaku, Lucas Biglia, Latest Rumours
Manchester United have reportedly been dealt a blow in their respective pursuits of Everton's Romelu Lukaku and Lazio's Lucas Biglia, but they could be preparing a big-money deal for Alvaro Morata if he returns to Real Madrid from Juventus.
Per the Sun's Mike McGrath, Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to capitalise on Lukaku's desire for UEFA Champions League football, which could dent United's hopes of landing him, as they will surely miss out on the competition barring a freak result against Bournemouth in their final league match of the season.
According to the Express (h/t Eurosport's Tom Bennett), the Belgian is one of the Red Devils' "top targets" this summer.

Ten Premier League teams have outscored United this season, so firepower is undoubtedly on the agenda, and after bagging 25 goals and seven assists in all competitions, Lukaku is an excellent candidate.
As his numbers suggest, the 23-year-old stood out at Everton this season:
The goal against Chelsea was indeed something to behold. After picking up the ball out wide, he cut in from the left and evaded Cesar Azpilicueta, John Obi Mikel and Gary Cahill before applying a cool finish. All-time Premier League top goalscorer Alan Shearer was impressed:
Those are qualities United have lacked all too often this season, but without the ability to offer Europe's elite competition, the club may struggle to land any targets their rivals are also after.
Meanwhile, they could miss out on Biglia if he renews his deal with Lazio. According to Italian outlet Il Messaggero (h/t Lorenzo Bettoni of Calciomercato), club president "Claudio Lotito was pondering to sell the former Anderlecht star to Man United or Inter [Milan] that have set sights on him," but the midfielder is hoping to sign a new deal.
The Argentinian has asked for a pay rise that will see his wages increase from €1.5 million to €2.5 million each year—a raise that could be met due to youngster Danilo Cataldi's slow development with the first team.

Earlier in the season, Italian football journalist David Amoyal described him as one "of the best midfielders in Serie A," and he has had yet another excellent campaign.
According to Squawka, the 30-year-old won 61 tackles and made 68 interceptions in 27 Serie A appearances this season, as well as creating 53 chances and maintaining a passing accuracy of 88 per cent. In all competitions, he ended the campaign with five goals and six assists.
Though Biglia is hardly a youngster himself, he's more mobile than the likes of Michael Carrick, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marouane Fellaini, and as his stats show, he's an effective contributor as a holding player and when joining in the attack.
If United do intend to get him, they should act quickly before a potential new deal is signed.

The Red Devils are also hoping to sign Juventus striker Morata even if Madrid exercise their buy-back clause. According to S. Lanzo and A. Milone of Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t the Daily Star's Joel Watson), Real can bring him back to the Bernabeu for £23 million and "are reportedly looking to sell the Spain international straight away to turn a quick profit."
United are reportedly considering a bid of £40 million to snap him up from Los Blancos.
The 23-year-old racked up 11 goals and 12 assists in a solid season for the Bianconeri. Here are some of his best moments:
Though Real have the clause, Morata himself still has to agree to leave Turin if they or another club come in for him. Per Amoyal, if the Spaniard does seek a move away, then Juventus will allow it to happen:
After enjoying plenty of success and game time with the Serie A champions, he may well opt to simply stay put, not to mention United can't offer him Champions League football.
Equally, if he does return to the Spanish capital, he may feel he has a point to prove and therefore prefer to stay and fight for a place there.
