Quinton de Kock (Delhi)—Top Batsman 9/2
It’s been a season of inconsistency for Delhi, but when the team have played well it’s typically down to the performances of Quinton de Kock.
The South African struck a superb 108 against Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier in the tournament, although he struggled afterwards, with just 15 runs coming in the following three games. But recent matches have seen the 23-year-old rediscover his form gradually, and he looks primed for another monster knock.
Indeed, his last four innings have yielded scores of 46, 52, 44 and 40. Against the bottom side in the IPL, he should continue that positive run.
As noted by the ESPN Cricinfo Twitter feed, his previous two innings could have been even better had it not been for poor umpiring:
So not only is De Kock in great touch and playing against a poor bowling attack, he’s certainly due a little bit of fortune. Provided he continues to operate in the same aggressive, front-foot style he has done throughout the tournament to this point, he’ll get it.
There are some other quality batsmen on show in this match, with Ajinkya Rahane the man most likely to cause Delhi problems. But De Kock relishes this format and is in tremendous form.

With the matches running down, it’s imperative Delhi notch a win here to keep their chances of reaching the knockout stages intact. They will be on the road for this one but should have enough to get the job done.
As former India player Aakash Chopra noted in the aftermath of their loss to Mumbai, things are looking bleaker for Delhi, who need to secure wins in two of their last three games:
On the back of a defeat, this should be the ideal match for this group of players. After a promising start to the season, debut franchise Rising Pune have lost their way a little, with just one win in their last six and three defeats in a row coming into this clash with Delhi.
They may have potentially destructive players in the likes of Rahane, George Bailey and MS Dhoni, but they’re failing to jell at the moment, with wickets tumbling freely. With the ball they’ve looked toothless, too, with Kolkata Knight Riders' Yusuf Pathan hammering the attack to all parts in their previous encounter.

Delhi will do so, too. Daredevils skipper Zaheer Khan has proved himself to be a very capable leader this season, and he must be bold in the way he approaches this one. Lose here and they’d have to pick up consecutive wins against both Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bangalore to keep their campaign going.
Therefore, expect a winning performance from an extra-focused Daredevils team; they will just about have the edge in all aspects of their play on Tuesday.
