WWE Rumors: Buzz on Road to WWE Extreme Rules 2016 for Week of May 13
There is the usual mention of injuries to WWE Superstars in this week's rumor roundup, along with some more intriguing stories at an interesting time for the company and its roster.
With a batch of releases taking place last week, it seems like there could be more in the offing, if sources online are to be believed.
Those stories plus the return of a major star on the WWE roster headline this week's look at WWE rumors.

AJ Styles Dealing with Injuries?
Look away now, AJ Styles fans.
It feels like it has been a while since we mentioned a fresh injury to a top WWE star, but rumors this week suggest that The Phenomenal One is dealing with a few issues.
PWInsider (h/t WrestlingInc) noted that Styles was not actively competing at this week's SmackDown tapings for that exact reason, too.
The article describes him as suffering from some "nagging injuries," which admittedly doesn't sound overly concerning for WWE fans.
However, the same source noted that officials backstage want to make sure that Styles is well-rested and fit to go for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view later this month.
He is slated to fight Roman Reigns in the main event, of course, so given the importance of the match, don't expect to see too much of AJ in the ring between now and then.
Brock Lesnar's WWE Return
He's been absent since defeating Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32, and it looks like fans will have to wait a while longer yet to see Brock Lesnar back on TV.
Word has it, according to LordsofPain's Marc Middleton, that we won't see Lesnar again until around August.
That means for the next two or three months there'll be no sight of Lesnar on our screens, which inevitably means no Paul Heyman, too.
Middleton reported that he will return to begin the build for a feud at this year's SummerSlam, which takes place in Brooklyn.
Interestingly, it's also noted that Bray Wyatt or Braun Strowman were suggested as possible opponents for Lesnar, but it seems the Strowman plans may have cooled given how his push hasn't quite happened yet.
Who will Lesnar end up fighting?
More WWE Releases?
The latest batch of releases last week featured more than a few surprises.
Damien Sandow's release was arguably the big one, and although there were a few stars you may have expected to be let go, it seems the cull may not be over.
PWInsider (h/t LordsofPain) reports that another batch of cuts could come after Extreme Rules, which takes place next Sunday. The end of the month seems to be when it's going to happen, at least going by WWE's policy of announcing the releases on a Friday.
Interestingly, the article also noted that there could be another surprising release on the way, of one "considered a top Superstar."
That will no doubt set the rumor mill into overdrive, as will the news that the releases are being made to clear the way for new signings.
Times are changing at WWE, and it seems the cuts are not over yet.
