Roberto Castro's Shot Lands in Fan's Shoe During Playoff Hole at PGA Tour Event
Thomas DuffyMay 8, 2016
Roberto Castro had the misfortune of firing a shot into a fan’s shoe during a playoff hole in Sunday’s Wells Fargo Championship.
Nope, not kidding.
The 30-year-old golfer overshot his ball into a group of PGA Tour spectators, and it actually hit one guy in the face.
He seemed OK, but the ball caromed into someone else’s (unworn) shoes.
Castro, still playing for the win, didn’t seem to see the humor in this. He just marked it and moved the loafers away. Of course, he didn't hit the ball out of the shoe.
In the end, it wasn’t enough. After a bit of a tournament dry spell, James Hahn emerged as the winner:
Hahn is a former shoe salesman. This is almost too good to be true.
