Beaten Brit Posts Message to the Fans

1 Punch Brings Brutal End to Khan Challenge

Alvarez delivered a strong right hook to Khan's jaw midway through the sixth round and retained his WBC Middleweight Championship.

After the first few rounds, it looked as though Khan was the better boxer. He was quicker and eluded most of Alvarez's power shots in the early going.

But once Alvarez connected with shots to the body, Khan began to slow down. Alvarez soon saw an opening and landed the knockout blow to hand Khan the fourth loss of his career.

Khan's head appeared to bounce off the canvas after he fell to the ground, and he remained motionless for at least a minute before the medical staff and members of his corner tended to him.

This was Khan's first loss in almost four years, and it took one punch from the hard-hitting Alvarez to end the fight. It's time to drop down in weight to give the Brit a more level playing field.
